Fred Syversen

Norwegian freeskier Fred Syversen heads up the Whitedot pro-team and leads our rider-led R&D from his base in Chamonix. Known internationally as the '107 m cliff drop dude', Fred holds the world record for the biggest ever ski drop whilst filming with Thierry Donard for Perfect Moment in 2009 which has made him something of a YouTube sensation. After a year of rave reviews and huge accolade from new team mate Jeremy Nobis, 2011 looks to see more growth and popularity for Fred's Ragnarok, check it out on the Skis page...

Tell us why you have decided to ski on Whitedot skis this season?
Simply because they make good skis, and that we have the possibility to participate in R&D, and that these guys really listens when something need to change.

Tell us all about your inspiration for the Ragnarok?
Ragnarok was the Viking name for the end of the world so basically the whole concept is based on the idea of skiing like there is no tomorrow. Perhaps I shouldn't advocate that! I had loads of fun visiting the factory and being part of the production and designing process. I also really like skiing on the Redeemers as it is a killer Big Mountain ski to push you to your limits.

What elements of the Whitedot skis makes them a great ski for you?
Easy handling' and stability in big runs.

Who or what are your biggest skiing influences?
My biggest influence is the mountains, and the feeling when you are there.

What up and coming projects, films, competitions and trips are you planning on this winter?br /> Because of a long time injury, I have to start the season easy to see what kind of skiing I am capable of before I go wild and involve myself in too many projects. To start with I will concentrate on photoshoots, and then everything else is bonus for me.

How would you describe your style?
Aggressive big mountain style
